While these are just two comments from among hundreds, they are typical of those posted on the forums. The topic of this forum was the cancellation of Nation Party, but the comments did not so much address the party as they did the exclusion of LGBT individuals from society and their subsequent claims on public space and citizenship. Note that in the second comment, there is a hint at a call for action that goes beyond online discussion and activism. The commenter suggests that “we be heard,” an intimation that it is time to leave comparatively safe online spaces and relocate the discussion to the physical world. A third comment from the same forum went so far as to suggest a physical-world protest on the scale of Stonewall:

3) We need a louder voice to voice our discontent! We can complain in this forum until the cows come home but it wouldn’t make a diff[erence]! We have been too passive, and it’s about time that the gay community in Singapore has a face, and a loud voice to be heard! Anybody organizing something similar to Stonewall? I volunteer to be the front guy holding the huge banner!
